Soccer League Serie A To Collaborate With Crypto.com To Launch NFTs

Serie A, the soccer league in Italy, has signed a deal with crypto.com that will enable them to receive non-fungible token collectibles in commemoration of the Italian league cup, Coppa Italia.

The Pioneer Professional Football League to Give Tokens

Serie A has all plans set to release special NFT collections to commemorate the special soccer game in the country. The NFT will include the highlights of the match and the trophy. The NFTs will be unveiled in partnership with a blockchain and payment website, Crypto.com, after a long-term deal was signed between the two establishments.

Serie A became the pioneer professional football league globally to have such a deal with a crypto company and come up with such a project based on a joint statement. Altogether, it is the second organization in the sports industry to issue tokens through crypto.com after the Aston Martin team employed the use of NFT Collectibles to celebrate their reappearance in the Formula 1 league.

The Italian Professional League is one of the most respected soccer leagues across Europe and is popular even globally. In the top league of the country, 20 clubs participate, and four of them qualify for the group stage games of the most prestigious football championship in Europe called the Champions League. The CEO of Serie A, Luigi De Siervo, commented on the partnership with Crypto.com.

He said: “We are the pioneer in the list of soccer leagues across the globe to enter a partnership with the new relevant and innovative market.”

The CEO emphasized that they aim to promote the league brand further through the release of the NFT and expand their global reach, which has already passed a billion viewers in the previous season. The League cup final will give the global fans an exciting experience before the game, on the pitch, and even after the match. This is all thanks to the marketing and commercial initiatives that the league is organizing with the partners.

The CEO and co-founder of crypto.com, Kris Marszalek, has this to say about the collaboration: “We are proud to partner with an outstanding partner such as Serie A. Through this partnership, we hope to bridge the gap between the football world and the blockchain technology by creating NFTs that will become classics instantly and highly coveted across the board.”

The success of NFTs is notable this year, with the digital artworks bringing returns in millions. Sports fans can exchange and collect collectibles about a team or a particular player, such as clips from the games.
